There are only few places in the world that can match the fun and adventure you will have if you travel to Mexico. From the ancient sites of the once-great Maya civilization to tropical jungles and diverse wildlife, you will never run out of breathtaking places to visit.
Adventure travel is a luxurious experience, especially for those living a busy life in the city. But sometimes, there's nothing wrong with going over the top on your outdoor adventures. If you're planning to go on an adventure, then Mexico should be high on your list of places to visit.
Adventure Trips in Mexico
Tacos and tortillas aren't the only things waiting for you in Mexico. If you're the adventurist, outdoorsy kind of person, then you'll most certainly be awed by the tropical jungles, the expansive wildlife sanctuaries, the seemingly endless coastlines, and monumental ancient ruins. Travel adventure in Mexico is pliant to your preference. If you'd rather go explore the underwater wonders of the great blue seas, then Mexico's whale sharks will definitely catch your attention. If you're an avid birder and want to witness hordes of birds, there are also many bird watching destinations in Mexico for you to visit.
Jungle Trips in Yucatan
If trekking tropical jungles is your idea of a fun adventure, you will find the Yucatan Peninsula one of the most wondrous places to spend your vacation. Yucatan is a popular tourist lounge in Mexico because of its rich ecosystem and astonishingly diverse wildlife. The Yucatan has thousands of mammalian, avian, crocodilian, and amphibian species, some of them unique only to the jungles of Yucatan. Active birders love the coastlines particularly because such places are teeming with birds nearly all seasons. Even more during the winter season because of the migratory species. During these times, the coastlines of Yucatan turn into a world of pink madness because of the countless number of Pink Flamingos picking fishes out of the shallow waters.
Apart from that, the inlands of Yucatan have sweeping tropical jungles, mangrove lagoons, and awe-inspiring haunts of interesting creatures. Here and there you'll find occasional crocodiles vaguely interested in the groups of tourists coming to visit their natural habitat.
Cancun Whale Sharks
Cancun is the place to be for every ocean-adventurer out there. The crystal-clear waters near Cancun are favorite haunts of whale sharks and various other sea creatures. You'll find that whale sharks, despite their ferocious shark-like reputation, are in fact very friendly creatures. To allay your fears, whale sharks are filter-feeders and have a love for plankton and macro-algae; they really don't eat people.
Mayan Ruins
The ancient Maya civilization thrived for thousands of years in Mesoamerica, a land that is now known to us as northern Central America and Southern Mexico. Many of the greater Maya sites can be found in Mexico, such as the Chichen Itza, Palenque, Tulum, and Riviera Maya. Ancient sites of the Aztecs such as Tenotichlan are in Mexico as well.
All in all, Mexico is truly a great place to spend your outdoor adventures.
