Anyone who tours Italy is sure to be awestruck by all there is to see. All roads lead to Rome the ancients used to say and for people exploring Italy it's still true. But the roads in Italy also lead to some other very interesting places. There is Venice with its canals and world renowned architecture and of course the majestic and powerful Vatican City, the head of all Christendom. Rome is called the Eternal City with good reason. Its inventions still sustain many nations. Roman aqueducts have inspired the water systems that grace most industrialized nations today. Roman strategy is still taught in military colleges worldwide. The people who are fortunate enough to tour Italy are blessed with the opportunity to see and touch the originals from which all the others descended.
Venice is an artist's dream come to life. This city with its maze of canals and hundreds of bridges has inspired and nurtured artists for centuries. Today many of their works can be seen in the numerous museums and art galleries the city holds. Nothing inspires lovers move than a moonlight boat ride on the canals of Venice. In the fading light of early evening the ancient buildings seem to glow and the beautiful lights inspires couples to fall in love all over again.
No trip to Italy would be complete without a visit to Vatican City. Within its walls are some of the holiest artifacts and most powerful teachings of the most influential men the world has ever known, Jesus the Christ. Vatican City is also home to two of the greatest masterworks of all time, St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.
